Hello Parents and Students,
A personalized digital learning packet was sent home with your child on Friday, March 13. First grade teachers have prepared 60 minutes of suggested daily learning activities for all of our students to complete at home until we return to school. All of the log in information and written work you will need is included in the learning packet. : ) Additionally, all students should please keep up with their reading for 20-30 minutes every day! (or more if you can!) Reading and sight word practice daily is so important for all first graders so thank you for helping with this.
Our guidelines for 1st grade are:
Reading (I Station online and/or reading at home)...20 minutes per day (when working in I-Station, students should always select the "Reading with ISIP" button!)
Writing and Sight words...20 minutes per day
Math (Dreambox and math fact practice)...20 minutes per day
We also included some resources for home such as our regular HW calendar, a writing journal calendar, sight word list, math facts list, extra practice pages for reading and math, and a March math journal. Please have your child continue to complete their daily homework calendar as part of their daily school work from home. It is good for both structure and routine, and it provides a spiral review of many different skills. The daily HW notebook assignment should take 5 or so minutes to complete. The March calendar was already at home, and the April calendar was sent ahead early on March 13 with our work packets for digital learning from home.
Parents, if you have any questions, please contact me via email at [email protected] and I will be in touch with you as soon as I can. I will be available online to answer parent emails daily M-F 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Thank you for your help and support from home!
Mrs. Nicklis
